Emma Murray

Swiss based and New Zealand born, I work in the fields of performance and choreography. I produce my own work while also performing,
teaching, acting and assisting in dance and theater projects
throughout Switzerland.

From 2013-2015 I was Pro Helvetia Young Associated Artist
and Artist in Residence at the Dampfzentrale Bern, where my work
continues to be co-produced. Since 2013 and in recognition of my emerging presence in both national and international settings, I have been the recipient of regular support from the City & Kanton of Bern and Pro Helvetia Switzerland.

I collaborate with artists across artistic disciplines
and cultural divides, while maintaining a teaching practice that in-
forms as well as archives my interest in creative process and co-
-operation. During the exchange-based research project, Working
Sessions in 2014 I facilitated the collaboration and curation of
Swiss based artists working across disciplines of performance,
choreography, writing and music. Last year I was the recipent of the Prohelvetia's Swiss Connect U.K Residency at HOME in Manchester.

Alongside Ballet, Contemporary and Choreography, I teach Gyrotonic® and the Das Arts Feedback Method in creative settings and for instituions and have a Masters in Contemporary Art Practice from Hochschule der Künste Bern. I am currently also working as an Intimacy Choreographer for Intimacy Directors and Coordinators Switerland (IDCS).
